In 1990 Lehigh entered the Patriot League and the success of Lehigh soccer developed from that point. In 1992 Dean Koski was hired as the head coach. In 1997 Koski led the team to the Patriot League Tournament in 9 of 10 years. 1999 was an important year for Lehigh soccer. In 1999, Lehigh had its first player ever drafted by the MLS, Andrew Mittendorf, who was drafted in the 1st Round by the Colorado Rapids. Since that time three other players have also been drafted by MLS. The construction of Ulrich Sports Complex also began in 1999. Ulrich Sports Complex is where the Lehigh soccer team plays and practices, and it ensured that Lehigh possesses one of the premier facilities in the Patriot League. Dean Koski labeled Ulrich as the most important recruiting tool that Lehigh soccer has. Lehigh began play on Ulrich in 2000.
