In my day, this building was called "Packard Lab" because its "rear half" was a three story high laboratory space. This space held large equipment including a small steam power plant, property of the mechanical engineering (M.E.) department. Late in our last semester as seniors, five M.E. students, including myself, choose to do a "heat balance" on this model steam plant. Thomas E. Jackson (aka TE Jackson) was our professor for this lab. It was a fun project, all except the 25 page or so technical report. Long before photography became so easy and prevalent, I was into it and took these photos which now serve as a little over half-century memories of "how it was" at Lehigh then.
