Wednesday, August 2, 2017

On October 13, 1964 the Lehigh Brown and White newspaper announced that demolition for the Packer Avenue project had begun on S. New St., and would continue until the area was cleared for the expansion of the university's campus. By this time plans for the area included an expanded library, more parking, and a building to house the College of Arts and Sciences (later named Maginnes Hall).
