Lehigh reached the Patriot League Championship in 2002, but lost in a shootout. However, the team did receive its first at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
2000 was the beginning of the glory years of Lehigh Soccer. The team won its first Patriot League Tournament and therefore received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The men's soccer team won the regular season Patriot League Championship. This title gave Lehigh the right to host the 2006 Patriot League Tournament.
The Men's Soccer team beat Rhode Island at Ulrich Sports Complex to win their first NCAA tournament game in program history.
Only in the 2010s did Lehigh Men's Lacrosse regain national attention.
